You Gotta Have Faith....fulness

God is thoroughly faithful to those he has committed himself to in love. When we put our trust in God for salvation, we receive full benefit of his faithful love. No matter how many time we sin or fail to return his love, he will always be faithful to us:
"If we are unfaithful
He remains faithful
for He cannot deny Himself" - 2nd Timothy 3:13

No matter what we do, he continues to love us and will always seek to renew fellowship with us. However, that doesn't mean that he doesn't discipline us:
"My child, don't ignore it when the Lord disciplines you,
and don't be discouraged when he corrects you.
For the Lord disciplines those he loves,
And He punishes those he accepts as his children" - Hebrews 12:5-6

It is His FAITHFUL love that motivates him. We must strive to be faithful to God..but something important we must realise is that we, as humans can never be totally faithful .
FAITHFUL - To be true, authentic, trustworthy, relied upon, dependable...
This is soo cheesey but its true - the only one who can be relied on 100% totally and utterly is God. He will never let us down.

God wants us to strive to be faithful:
- to Him
- Within our relationships

Cheating on a boyfriend/girlfriend isn't an act which we would set out to do..it would be a build up on conversations and flirting before the actual thing would happen. Being unfaithful to God and letting him down is the same principle .. it's a build up of whispers in our ears from satan..little temptations constantly bombarding us and leading us to contemplate giving up. Then we will be unfaithful. How could we avoid cheating on our boyfriend..well I know that I would avoid anyone who i thought was 'flirting' with me and I won't put myself in a position where that is ever likely to happen!! I am not comparing this to being unfaithful to God but I'm just putting it in a way that i can relate better. Sometimes for me reading things in the Bible don't make it clear to me..i have to relate it someway to how I can understand!

So i think being faithful to God means being well equipped to fight against the enemy..removing ourselves from situations where we are likely to fall!!

It is God's faithfulness which is the 'ground of our confidence, the foundation of our hope and the courage to carry on through our failings'

1st Corinthians .... "But remember that the temptations that come into your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up against it. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it."

I feel so at peace knowing this... that God's people are not those who have it all together but those who realise that they don't. God is our FATHER, our FRIEND and our GUIDE. We as humans say one thing..and do another BUT God, being perfect .. is FAITHFUL all of the time!
