I love hearts! I love drawing them; I love any Bible verse about the 'heart' ... it's something I know can be made complete, can be broken .... But surely it's just a muscle - it isn't even the nice, cute shape we imagine it to be! Confused..??!
The word heart starts with the word 'hear' (coincidence or God-incidence?!) The good heart hears God's word and understands it. People of that character long to know more about what the kingdom of heaven is like. They were seekers for the knowledge of God's will.
The heart is the wellspring of life (Proverbs 4:23) ... it is where blood is pumped .. vital to our living!! Desires orginate here (Psalm 37:4) .. God places desires in our hearts ...
We've all heard the God-shaped whole in our hearts analogy .. and we know that we become Christians by asking Jesus into out hearts ... everything seems to begin with our hearts!
Maybe instead of wondering how come this is so..I should just accept this fact. Working on making my heart reflect God's heart more should be my goal (That's my goal! - seen Shayne Ward tonight at Belfast Christmas Lights switch on, lol!)
I'm captured by Your holy calling
Set me apart,
I know you're drawing me to yourself
Lead me Lord I pray
Take me,
Mould me,
Use me,
Fill me
I give my life to the Potter's hand
Call me,
Guide me,
Lead me,
Walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter's hand"
